What follows are some pictures of my family and my friends. When making these photographs, it was important to me to represent them in a way that would reflect what they are, so most of the time I just asked them to tell me when they feel the most happy, when they feel the most to be themselves, and we used this is a basis for the shooting ... to produce sometimes quite metaphorical and 'bizarre' results ;-)
About method :
As you will see, these photos are "n-iptychs"; that is, images composed of n different photographs that contribute to make one single picture. Most of them are triptychs. The connections betwen the different images are not harmonious and the overall picture may sometimes seem distorted and somehow disturbing.
The idea here is to reproduce what happens in normal visual perception. When we look at something before us, we typically do not see it as a uniform whole, rather our perception is dynamic in the sense that we go over what we see and we focus on some details that arouse our interest. Also, we typically observe things from various angles and distances. It's this phenomenon of 'dynamic perception' that I try to capture in the photographs below.
